If the New York Jets get No. 1 pick during NFL draft, quarterback Trevor Lawrence would likely return to the Clemson Tigers for playing his senior league season so as to avoid the Jets at any cost.
This is what the ex-Falcons wide receiver Roddy White has advised Lawrence, the popular pocket passer who is considered to be among the gifted quarterback prospects and the best since Andrew Austin Luck in the year 2012.
There is a potential that the Jets might become the 3rd team in the league history to have finished 0-16 after the 2017 Brows and 2008 Lions, which will guarantee them top pick in the NFL draft as other teams who have won a game this season.
The 21-year-old Lawrence might be very difficult to pass, though it has been just 3 years that the Jets chose Sam Darnold using the 3rd overall pick during 2018 NFL draft.
Darnold, 23 has failed mostly in meeting the expectations, majorly due to the mediocre talent surrounding him, like White rightly pointed out.
If Lawrence truly follows White’s advice then it will likely conjure up sore memories for the Jets fans. We’ll have to wait and see what really happens during the upcoming NFL draft.
