After a top-drawer batting display, Australia rained fire on the Ireland bowlers at the Gabba. This aggressive bowling effort was led by fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who picked up two wickets in his first over while giving away zero runs. Captain Aaron Finch backed him in the third over, and Starc dismissed Curtis Campher for a duck.

Then on the last ball of his over, the 32-year-old might have delivered the ball of the tournament as he smashed through George Dockrell’s defense with an in-swinging yorker that shattered the stumps spectacularly.

After blowing Ireland away early and having them 5/25, Australia would be very disappointed to let them go to a score of 137. Lorcan Tucker provided a spirited performance, finishing with 71* off 48 balls and blasting nine boundaries.

Mitchell Starc was on fire early but leaked runs late in the match.

On the 17th over, Mitchell Starc returned for the Aussies. Tucker played a gorgeous ramp shot for a boundary before going over the top of mid-off for another boundary. He played the same shot again, backing away this time and hitting the ball cleanly over mid-off for another four runs. Starc got a little bit loose, bowling two wides in the over. Lorcan Tucker gave an outstanding performance.
