NYC correction officer with warrant for arrest busted after Harlem fight

An off-duty city correction officer was busted on Tuesday after a fight at a Harlem apartment building — and arresting officers learned he had a warrant out for his arrest, sources said.

Clifton Brooks, 37, was charged with assault following the feud inside the building on Fifth Avenue near East 138th Street at about 12:15 p.m., according to police sources.

Brooks was found brawling on the ground with the victim, who suffered a cut to the left ear, sources said.

Police intended to give Brooks a desk appearance ticket until discovering there was a warrant out for his arrest from a 2012 spitting incident.

Brooks was given a summons for the earlier offense, but never showed up to court, sources said.
