Shawn Mendes performed for his fans for a unique Christmas Day treat while only wearing his underwear.

The 24-year-old “Stitches” singer posted a video of himself taking the polar bear plunge while wearing a pair of black boxer briefs to his Instagram account.

Shawn just captioned the video, “MERRY CHRISTMAS ❄️🤪❤️.”

The video shows Shawn submerging himself in the stream before lying there for a short while to enjoy the cool water. As he emerged from the water, he exclaimed, “I can’t feel a thing.”

Was it freezing, Sabrina Carpenter said in jest.

“I’m here for all of that as a viewer,” Laverne Cox said. Although I am not interested in taking part, I applaud this as excellent Christmas IG content. “LC endorsed!”

Who’s Shawn Mendes

Pop musician Shawn Peter Raul Mendes is from Canada. When he uploaded song covers to the video-sharing website Vine in 2013, he started to amass a following. He attracted the notice of Island Records A&R Ziggy Chareton and artist manager Andrew Gertler the following year, which resulted in his securing a contract with the label.

2014 saw the publication of Mendes’ self-titled debut EP, and 2015 saw the release of his first studio album, Handwritten. Mendes is one of five musicians to have their debut album at number one before turning 18 thanks to Handwritten, which debuted atop the US Billboard 200. The song “Stitches” peaked at number one in the UK, US, and Canada’s top 10 singles.

The singles “Treat You Better” and “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” from Mendes’ second album Illuminate (2016) peaked at number one in the US and other countries, respectively. The debut song, “In My Blood,” was the album’s promotional platform.

Shawn Mendes became the third-youngest artist to have three number-one albums as the album debuted at number one in the US. His 2019 singles “If I Can’t Have You” and “Senorita,” which peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, were both hits. He became the youngest male artist to ever debut at the top of the Billboard 200 with four studio albums with his fourth, Wonder (2020).

Mendes has garnered numerous honors, including 13 SOCAN awards, 10 MTV Europe Music Awards, 8 Juno Awards, eight iHeartRadio MMVAs, 2 American Music Awards, three Grammy Awards nominations, and 1 Brit Awards nomination. On their annual list, Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2018.
