As Halloween creeps closer, there is an increased demand for the best horror movies, which makes sense, given that it is necessary to see something scary to get into the spirit of the season. PG 13 Halloween Movies does not affect the film’s overall quality; in fact, some of the scariest and spine-chilling movies are only given that rating.
Since it’s officially the season for spooky movies to take over our watch lists, here are some of the best PG-13 Halloween movies that can be found on Netflix.
1. The Vampire’s Assistant
The bizarre show that is the circus. The Vampire’s Assistant is the name of a fantasy film that was released in 2009 and may also stand alone as its own title. Even though it isn’t the most well-known of the many lesser-known horror movies that are currently available on Netflix, this left-of-center picture undoubtedly has certain elements that set it apart from other movies of its era. These elements include certain aspects that set it apart from other movies of its era.
The writer Darren Shan’s Vampire Blood trilogy served as the inspiration for the television show The Vampire’s Assistant. Since the movie turned out to be a commercial failure (it grossed $39 million at the box office on a budget of $40 million), the ideas for future sequels were scrapped. Despite this, The Vampire’s Assistant is a solid and entertaining film that stands on its own. In addition to that, it had an exceptionally skilled cast that included, amongst others, Josh Hutcherson, Salma Hayak, and John C. Reilly.
2. Tremors
The fact that Kevin Bacon and Reba McEntire performed the leading roles in the 1990 film Tremors helped to the film’s success when it first came out in theatres. This horror-comedy signalled the beginning of a popular film series that would quickly spawn six further instalments (the most recent of which being Tremors: Shrieker Island, which was released direct-to-video in 2020), in addition to a short television series.
Even if the quality and attractiveness of this idea later decreased in the sequels, the original Tremors film is a one-of-a-kind, quirky, and undeniably amusing picture. However, the sequels did not live up to the initial promise of this notion.
3. 47 Meters Down

4. Insidious: The Last Key
At the 2010 edition of the Toronto International Film Festival, the first film in the Insidious series, simply named Insidious, was shown to audiences across the world for the first time. Due to the success of this supernatural horror movie, it seems certain that there will be a sequel of some form. Insidious Chapter 2, which was released in 2013, is a sequel to the first film and serves as a direct continuation of the events of that film.
Both of the most recent entries in this franchise, Insidious: Chapter 3 and Insidious: The Latter Key, are considered to be prequels to the first film in the series. The last instalment of the Insidious film series, titled Insidious: The Last Key, distinguishes apart from the rest of the films in the series because it takes on a significantly different tone and is aimed towards a completely unique audience, yet maintaining its PG-13 rating.
5. Happy Death Day
Happy Death Day is a great example of a slasher film that can be seen on Netflix. This horror-comedy was released in 2017 to much acclaim and success. The film Happy Death Day is filled to the brim with laughs and bloodshed, yet it also manages to convey a meaningful message. It doesn’t take itself all that seriously, which is refreshing.
This is a Halloween movie that any fan of the horror genre really ought to see. You probably won’t have any nightmares as a result of it, but there is no question that you will get into the holiday mood.
