UFC Light Heavyweight Fight Announced Between William Knight and Alonzo Menifield For February

The UFC has added yet another light heavyweight bout to the fight card on February 27th. This time, it is William Knight taking on Alonzo Menifield.

The venue and location for the fight card has not been announced yet. However, the fight announcements have been coming thick and fast as the UFC tries to sort out the card for early 2021.

The clash between ‘Knightmare’ and ‘Atomic’ will be atomic indeed. Both men have secured a mind-boggling 89% of their victories via T/KO.

Therefore, there is reason to believe that the fight will definitely not go the distance. Both men are currently unranked in the division and the fight will be a good opportunity to move towards securing a rank.

William Knight vs Alonzo Menifeld to set off fireworks in the light heavyweight division

‘Knightmare’ made his debut on Dana White’s contender series in September this year with an impressive TKO victory over Cody Brundage. Just a few weeks later, he took on a promising young talent in Aleksa Camus at UFC 253. He was able to secure a victory via unanimous decision.

Alonzo, on the other hand, is also a product of Dana White’s contender series. He made his debut on the show in June 2018 with a stellar TKO win over Vinicius Castro. He followed that up with another stellar KO victory over Paul Craig in June 2019.

Since his two wins, things have been going downhill for ‘Atomic’. He succumbed to a loss against Devin Clark in June this year via unanimous decision. Additionally, he suffered a KO loss against Ovince St. Preux in September this year.

Going into the fight, Menifield will have a three-inch reach advantage over his counterpart, which he should be able to use effectively. He lands 3.34 significant strikes per minute and any one of those can end the fight in the blink of an eye.

Knight, on the other hand, goes into the fight with a height and reach disadvantage. However, he lands a staggering 4.69 significant strikes per minute which will be his key to victory.
